EFMA European Muaythai Championships in Minsk
The 2019 European Championship was held 3 November – 11 November 2019 in Minsk, Belarus. Another great event! The 2019 Championships are listed as an official qualification event for the esteemed World Games 2021 and medalists receive points towards qualification rankings. Thomas Stieger, CEO and board member of Hess Group International, board member of the European Federation of Muaythai and associate of Rolf Hess, chairman of IFMA’s business commission, attended the annual event in support of the Federation. It was a great opportunity to socialize with IFMA’s greatest influencers and discuss the development of the federation and the sport from within.

In the 6 days of competition at the European Muaythai Championships 2019, team Russia achieved a tremendous effort winning 11 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals and was announced the best team of the tournament. The home team of Belarus followed with 5 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze, Ukraine took third place with 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. This year Mikalai Sviadomski from Belarus received the Best Male Athelete award; Svetlana Vinnikova became a symbol of the female age in Russian Muaythai as she was awarded the Best Female Athelete award.
